🧤Volunteer: Assist LTER with “A Day in the Lab” Event

LTER is seeking volunteers to assist with “A Day in the Lab” as part of Project Horizons, a college-track mentoring program for at-risk middle and high school students in Accomack and Northampton Counties. The program provides an extra academic, social, and cultural boost for economically disadvantaged students, and exposes them to the post-secondary education environment.

LTER scientists will be running stations in which students can try doing authentic science (radio tracking birds, doing oyster population counts, dune simulations, etc). Volunteers will help run those stations and may also help setting up the Monday before.
